The Groom’s Story {Cat & Ronnie}

The Groom’s Story {Cat & Ronnie}

Typically most proposal and wedding stories are told from the bride’s point of view. We love hearing from the guys. Here’s a story from Ronnie Manglicmot one of our grooms, sharing his experience in the entire process. We can’t wait to coordinator your special day in San Diego this Spring.

The Proposal Story

“Our 11 year anniversary fell on a Friday. Both Cat and I worked a long day, but we still planned on having dinner together. I had already received Cat’s parents blessings the week prior and let them know that I would be proposing on our anniversary. The day before our anniversary, I let Cat know that we would not be doing anything big to celebrate and to not worry about getting me a gift. The September weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold, and not a cloud in the sky. I planned an sunset picnic on Harbor Island, which overlooks the San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge. On the way to the picnic we picked up a bottle of wine and a couple of Capresse sandwiches from a local italian market to enjoy during our evening picnic on the island. As the sun was setting and we were enjoying a glass of wine, I expressed to Cat that I had a gift for her. At that moment I unveiled the ring, got on one knee and proposed….She said yes!”

The Planning Process

“The planning process has been a roller coaster of emotions. By the time our wedding day arrives, we will be engaged for 1 year and 6 months. One year ahead of our wedding day we booked our major vendors (Church, Venue, Photographer, Florist, etc). We thought we were well ahead of schedule. Cat spent her free time researching wedding magazines and wedding blogs for more ideas. We would also attend Bridal Shows to meet vendors and sip on drinks and nibble on appetizers (the best part of the shows)! Suddenly 6 months flies by and we realize we should take our Engagement pictures for our Save the Dates. That’s when the “snowball effect” happened. Other tasks needed to be attended to, such as gathering guests addresses, creating our wedding website, scheduling hair and makeup trials, etc.  Every weekend was dedicated to a task for the for the wedding.  We cherish the exciting times together as we personalize our style for our wedding.  We also appreciate the difficult tasks (guest list, budget) because we learn to work together as a team to resolve issues.”

We are most excited for…

“We are most excited to see our vision as a couple be displayed on our wedding day. We can’t wait to see our personalities shine through. We are also very excited to be surrounded by all the people who love and support us as a couple.”

Thank you for sharing your beautiful engagement photos and sweet story with us!
