Real Wedding at The Fig House {Irene & Fernie}

Real Wedding at The Fig House {Irene & Fernie}

One of the most special parts of wedding planning and coordination is seeing a couple's love and personality come through in all the little details.

Irene & Fernie's wedding was full of personal touches, from the gifts presented to each other (a lego bride & groom!) to classic arcade games at the reception! Perhaps one of the most interwoven themes throughout the big day was their combined love of Disney and adventure. Irene & Fernie first said "I Love You" at Disneyland, and when Fernie decided to propose to Irene at the base of a waterfall, he presented her with a miniature version of the "Adventure Book" from the movie "Up." The wedding itself included a life-sized replica "Up" mailbox with their handprints that doubled as a gift box and a bride & groom Mickey and Minnie sat on the sweetheart table.

The decor of the event reflected the adventure of Irene & Fernie's relationship, as well as surprises around every corner! Classic arcade games complete with an 8-bit art print of a bride and groom kept guests entertained when they weren't dancing the night away on top of the "It's Time to Party" decal on the dance floor. A King's Hawaiian Paradise wedding cake delighted guests and a surprise Star Wars groom's cake from Sweet & Saucy shocked a speechless Fernie! One of the most special moments of the evening was when Irene surprised Fernie (and all of their guests) with a traditional hula dance dedicated to him, showing that her search for the perfect partner was over now that she had him.

The modern vintage theme of the wedding molded together a beautifully unique venue, The Fig House, with DIY decor elements. Mismatched, colorful furniture and wooden octagon tables stood out from traditional venue furniture, while multiple small vases and mason jars with flowers and twinkle lights had a fun,minimalistic vibe for table centerpieces. A succulent garden doubled as an escort card display and guests were gifted with individual succulent favors. Bistro lights over the patio added a romantic touch as the sun set, and shaved ice treats added a touch of whimsy as guests danced the night away.

Each personal touch reflected the love that Irene & Fernie have for each other - and it seems as though their adventure is only beginning!
